Eagle Lake is providing good trout fishing, with Eagle Lake rainbow trout actively feeding during the cooler morning and evening hours. Anglers are finding the most consistent action around rocky points, drop-offs, and areas adjacent to deeper water.Trout are commonly holding in 8 to 15 feet of water during the early morning and moving into 15 to 30 feet of water as the day progresses. During periods of wind, fish may move shallower to take advantage of food being pushed along the shoreline.Bait anglers are having success with inflated nightcrawlers, chartreuse PowerBait, garlic PowerBait, and salmon eggs fished near the bottom. Shore anglers should focus on points, coves, and areas where deeper water is accessible from shore.Boat anglers are finding success trolling spoons, Needlefish, and Wedding Rings tipped with nightcrawler. Silver, gold, copper, and orange patterns are producing the most consistent results. Early morning presentations are working best at depths of 8 to 15 feet, while midday anglers should target 15 to 30 feet.Fly anglers are doing well with Woolly Buggers, balanced leeches, chironomids, and damsel nymphs. Focus on depths of 6 to 15 feet during low-light periods and move deeper as fish follow cooler water throughout the day.Overall, anglers should concentrate on depths of 8 to 15 feet during the morning and evening hours and 15 to 30 feet during the middle of the day. The best fishing is occurring around rocky structure, drop-offs, and transition zones between shallow flats and deeper water, particularly during the first few hours after sunrise and the final hours before sunset.

As of late February 2025, fishing conditions at Eagle Valley Reservoir in Nevada have been influenced by environmental factors. Algae growth has limited fishing opportunities, making it challenging for anglers to find success. Despite these challenges, some anglers have reported catching trout using PowerBait and night crawlers during the early morning and late evening hours. Bass and crappie have been more active throughout the day, with jigs and Woolly Buggers proving effective.
