Yaquina River: The Yaquina River is starting to see winter steelhead move into the system, but its still early in the season and the bite hasnt fully developed yet. Anglers are finding that fish are present and it offers a fun opportunity to fish for winter steelhead, though catches are generally modest this early in the run. There is also fishing opportunity on the Big Elk Creek tributary, which can hold additional winter steelhead and offers a chance at retaining hatchery fish where regulations allow. Remember to check current regulations before heading out, as coastal river rules can change year to year.
