On the Nestucca River, winter steelhead fishing is currently fair when river conditions are favorable and should continue to improve as more fish enter the system. Recent heavy rains may push flows up and make water off-color at times, but as conditions settle later in the week, the river should fish reasonably well. The Nestucca is one of the coastal systems that receives a substantial hatchery winter steelhead release, so its a good option for anglers seeking fish they can keep under the 2026 regulations.Three Rivers, a key tributary of the Nestucca near Hebo, is also showing consistent catches of winter steelhead, particularly where flows have created favorable lies. Anglers targeting brighter offerings and slower water/current breaks early in high water have been most successful.
