Right now winter steelhead season is underway on the Siletz River and anglers are starting to see fish moving into the system. According to the latest Oregon Fish Report from January 8, 2026, winter steelhead are actively entering the river, and stretches such as the town loop float and areas beyond have been productive through recent weeks. As flows settle after rain events, many parts of the mid-coast rivers, including the Siletz, should be fishable for steelhead anglers. The Siletz Gorge area also offers additional bank fishing opportunities, although vehicle access there is limited to weekends. Overall, the current conditions suggest fair to promising winter steelhead prospects, especially for anglers timing trips around wetter periods and focusing effort on key access points such as the town loop float and Siletz Gorge during open access times.
