The Columbia River: Below Bonneville Dam to Tongue point is open as follows: June 27th through July 5th for Sockeye Salmon, Hatchery Jack Chinook and Hatchery Steelhead. Bass fishing is Starting to turn on on the Big river too! It is Shad season right now! Pike minnow is starting to pick up the best fishing locally is July through September. Best method for Steelhead is Spin N glow and coon shrimp in 8 to 12 feet of water. On the incoming tide bobber fishing is productive with a coon shrimp. Trolling a small spinner behind a flasher with a small coon shrimp will also be productive. Come see our fishing Outfitters for information on gear, bait and Techniques! The Lower Columbia is open for Salmon and Steelhead> Up to 2 adults may be retained, of which up to 1 may be a steelhead. Release all salmon other than Chinook and hatchery coho. Release wild steelhead. Salmon min. size 12". Fishing in the Lower river is slowing for Salmon. We have all the gear for fishing the Columbia.
