Blue Creek: Winter Steelhead is good. Last week, Tacoma Power employees recovered 474 winter-run steelhead adults and five spring Chinook adults over five days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator. River flow below Mayfield Dam is 5,160 cubic feet per second on Monday, February 26, 2024. Water visibility is 5 feet and water temperature is 45.8F. River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility. Recommended techniques: Divers and bait or bobber fishing with Beads and jigs, Spinners are effective. Come into Sportsman's for additional information.

Fishing is very good on this stretch of the Cowlitz River. Late run Coho, are Biting on Spinners and Twitching jigs. Sea run Cutthroat are taking fly's and small spoons and spinners. Winter Steelhead should be showing up soon! Bobber and jigs, eggs and beads should all be good techniques. We have all the gear in stock, gear up while supplies are good!
