Blue Creek: Last week, Tacoma Power employees recovered one Winter-run Steelhead, 446 Spring Chinook adults, 174 Spring Chinook jacks, 31 Spring Chinook mini jacks, and 91 Summer-run Steelhead over four days of operations at the Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery separator. River flow below Mayfield Dam is 3,610 cubic feet per second on Monday, June 22, 2026. Water visibility is 10 feet and water temperature is 52.5 (F). River flows could change at any time so boaters and anglers should remain alert for this possibility. Recommended Techniques: Divers and bait or bobber fishing with Beads, jigs or eggs. For Springers Bobber river tip your jig with sand shrimp. Drifting eggs and bobber with eggs are working well in the upper river. Plunking spin n glo with coon shrimp is also a productive technique for Steelhead. Come into Sportsman's for additional information.

Fishing is very good on this stretch of the Cowlitz River. Late run Coho, are Biting on Spinners and Twitching jigs. Sea run Cutthroat are taking fly's and small spoons and spinners. Winter Steelhead should be showing up soon! Bobber and jigs, eggs and beads should all be good techniques. We have all the gear in stock, gear up while supplies are good! Limit Adults:Two salmon, 3 adult Steelhead or Cutthroat.
