Kalama River: Is open for Hatchery Steelhead, Sea run Cutthroat and Hatchery Salmon. Summer Steelhead are in and the run will continue through the fall . Below the Weir the river has lots of Chinook Salmon so far over 5,000 have shown up at the weir or hatchery. From the Natural Gas Pipeline by Mahaffys to the lower hatchery creek is Fly fishing only from September 1st through October 31st. Bobber fishing with Jigs, beads and eggs is very productive. Spinners and Spoons can be good options for Steelhead and Salmon. See our fishing associate's for more information.

Fishing in the Kalama River for Coho Salmon is very good and should remain good for the next few weeks. Daily limit: 2 adult Salmon may be retained. Release all salmon other than hatchery Chinook and Hatchery coho. Use Twitching jigs, spinners and small plugs for the Silvers.
