Kalama River: Is open for Hatchery Steelhead and Hatchery Salmon. The Winter Steelhead are still coming through and Summer Steelhead are starting to come in as well. Springers are being caught Springers should continue to improve into May. So far 23 Spring Chinook have returned to the upper hatchery. Recommended techniques: Bobber fishing with Jigs, beads and eggs is very productive. Spinners and Spoons can be good options for Steelhead and Salmon. Kalama is a good river for Fly fishing. Fishing in the Kalama River for Coho Salmon is very good and should remain good for the next few weeks. Daily limit: 2 adult Salmon may be retained. Release all salmon other than hatchery Chinook and Hatchery coho. Use Twitching jigs, spinners and small plugs for the Silvers.
