Eagle Lake

Rating - Good

Tuesday, Oct 26 2021
The water temperatures continue to cool, and the trout are moving into the shallows along the rocky shorelines. Trollers are scoring at 2 to 5 feet on the downriggers or with side planers with trolling flies in bright orange, rust, or cinnamon in the shallows. The trout are holding over rocky structure either left or right of the marina in 10 feet of water, and the best action is in the first two hours of the mornings as the fish are in the highly-oxygenated water near the surface. The rocks in Merrill Cove or along the rockwall at the Marina towards the east side of the lake have been producing. Shore fishing has been solid with nightcrawlers off of a bobber along with Kastmasters while fly fishermen are wading out into the lake. The launch ramp remains in the water, but boaters have to be cautious not to go of the end of the ramp into the rocks. Jet boaters are requested to walk their boats onto their trailers as running the engine onto the trailer is displaying the rocks at the end of the ramp.
