Fishing at Ridgway Reservoir is currently very good for summer angling, with surface water temperatures around 69F. Trout are most active during the early morning hours before moving into deeper, cooler water as the day heats up. Anglers fishing from shore should concentrate on deeper rocky shorelines early in the day, while boat anglers can target fish holding near and below the thermocline.Rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, and walleye are all potential targets. Gold or silver spoons are good choices from shore, while anglers fishing deeper water can use jigs, nightcrawlers, or PowerBait. For smallmouth bass and walleye, focus on drop-offs, submerged structure, and rocky points.
