Provo River - Lower

Rating - Good

Fishing is fair good. Anglers report small mayfly and midge hatches are still occurring. We recommend anglers use flies ranging from #18-#28. If youre fly-fishing, brown trout are spawning and streamers, dry flies and nymphs are catching fish. For streamers, try using a Marabou Muddler (size #6-#8), Wooly Bugger (size #4-#8), Matuka (size #6-#8), or Galloup's Dungeon. For dry flies, try using BWO (size #18-#22), CDC (size #18-#22), Griffiths Gnat (size #18-#22), CDC emerger (size #20-22), CDC & Elk (size #18-22), or Parachute Adams (size #18-#22). For wet flies, try using egg patterns (size #16), Aero Baetis (size #18-#20), Barr's Emerger (size #18-#20), Ghost Nymph (size #18-#20), RS2 (size #18-#20), Pheasant Tail nymphs (size #18-#22), WD40 (size #18-#20), Jujubee Midges or Zebra Midges (size #20-#22). If youre spin-casting, try using marabou jigs, Rapala Original Floating Minnow, Rebel Minnow or Jointed Floater Minnow, Panther Martin Hammered spinners, Blue Fox Vibrax spinners, Luhr Jensen Krocodile spoons, Rooster Tail spinners, Worden's Lures Flatfish lures, Panther Martin spinners, Williams Wabler spoons, or Acme Little Cleo spoons. If you're bait fishing, try using florescent orange or sherbet trout dough bait, salmon egg, piece of worm, or white tube jig tipped with nightcrawler under a small bobber or stream float.
