If the water is dirty, then throwing a crankbait around the banks is likely to be the most effective pattern. In clearer areas, jigging a spoon should also work this month. An Alabama rig can also be in play. Fish should continue to be caught on free-lines, on planer boards and by casting at birds. However, if it gets very cold, then fish should go deep and be caught on spoons bumped off the bottom or live bait fished deeper. So far this month that has been the best pattern. It is most popular for fishing Largemouth bass, Bluegill, and Spotted bass using shad, minnows, shells, crawfish, worms, grubs, insects, crickets and even baby bluegill on some big crappie. Deep-diving crankbaits, jigs and various soft plastics will be your go-to lures during the summer months. Larger bass also tend to gobble up freshly stocked hatchery trout, so a swimbait or other lure that imitates a confused rainbow can be your ticket during stocking season.

Drive through front gate. The park is still OPEN for fishing and boat rentals!! The bass are chasing bait so get your shiners and catch some fish. A good technique for catching panfish is to use an ultra-light rod with 41b test. Use a #8 hook, split shot and a bobber about 1.5 feet up the line. Cut night crawlers have been great.
