Lake Cuyamaca has benefitted with above average rainfall this past month. The upper basin is full enough for the lake to stock trout in and there have been reports that the bite is better over there than in the main part of the lake! Since the upper basin is so full they are cycling water between the two which is increasing oxygen levels and making the bite faster and stronger than before. Recently pulled out of the lake was a 9.7 pounder caught on a garlic nightcrawler at the Lone Pine location.
