The lake is currently going through a bloom of golden algae, which has hindered the fishing quite substantially, making any trips to the lake extremely hit or miss.. Fish can still be caught, and in good numbers though, if you're able to find a pocket of clean water, which will most likely hold lots of fish. Bass have been taking good to swimbaits and jigs; soft plastics (rigged to preference) have been fishing very good as well. Trout have been caught, but have not been biting great. It is good to use spinners or baited hooks with Powerbait or worms (hooks sized 12-16). Catfish always bite good, and for the same things. Be sure to use nightcrawlers, stinkbaits, and chicken livers .
