The Missouri River has stayed consistent, and the river remains open and very fishable. Fishing has been best from late morning into the afternoon once the day warms up. Wind has been the main thing to plan around, but on calmer days the river has been fishing well.Nymphing has been the most effective way to find fish. Scuds and sowbugs have been good flies to build a rig around, paired with smaller patterns like zebra midges or baetis-style nymphs. Getting flies down has mattered more than changing patterns. A 9-foot fluorocarbon leader of 4X has been a solid setup for most nymph rigs and helps maintain control in deeper water.
