Forecast Contributor Billy Wheat, Follow on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/riprapfishingadventures and www.riprapfishing.netThe good news is the current is getting better and better as they drop the upper lakes and pull the water through the great Tennessee River system. The water levels are settling into the winter stages and the bass will start to group up in the schools that make the opportunity better for anglers that fish the shell beds and current breaks. But we must never rule out the opportunity for grass bass. The aquatic vegetation that survives the drawdown can be awesome for those magical moments that produce a Giant bass for those who stand strong during this time.We leave the fickle world of small baits and step into the world of Glides and big paddling tails that entice the big bite of our life! The square bills got bigger our jigs become bulkier! The time to target the biggest bass in the pond starts now! The big stumps and standing timber associated with the nearby shell beds and steep drops are now being targeted with 58-inch Swimbaits and A-rigs along with the jerk baits and 3/4 to 1 oz traps. But never forget the frog bite in shallow vegetation if its available fish it!Water levels are 677 and the water temperatures are going to go down from the 60s into the 50s. One of the number one baits is the Chatterbait ranging from 3/8 to 1 oz. Dont forget the Crankbaits this time of year from 5-15 feet. Remember safety first use your maps and wear your life jacket.
