We have been primarily focusing on the upper end the last few days. Water clarity is pretty good for the most part.Bass- we are catching lots of spots and largemouth on minnow style baits/ jerk baits around shad schools. Look for these shad schools in the main river channel or in creeks and pockets.Crappie- the post spawn crappie bite has been pretty good lately with crappie being caught shallow around timber, as well as suspended over deep water. Pick your poison! Weve been using tuffies as well as Bobby Garland jigs in pink or pink / white.Walleye the walleye bite has been extremely slow since the lake hit full summer pool. Some are being caught trolling crankbaits in the Mid Lake area, but they are few and far between.Catfish- The flathead and channel cat bite is really getting good. Weve caught multiple fish while targeting other species. The area close to Rock Island State Park seems to be holding lots of nice eater sized fish right now. Threadfin shad (if you can find some fresh) will do the trick.
