Two public boat launch areas make fishing from a boat an easy chore. Types of fish expected to be available are Largemouth Bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, hybrid stripers and walleye. Its been observed that there are big Largemouth Bass up shallow in less than 3 ft of water. They also saw walleye anywhere between 10-25 inches up in less than 4 ft of water. Anglers have reported success with walleye near the inlet during early mornings using jerkbaits. A light to medium spinning rod with 6-8 lb. test line will cover most species in the lake. Hotspot 1 North Cove- Lure: Try using medium diving crankbaits in natural colors to target largemouth bass near submerged structure. Cast close to the shore and retrieve slowly to mimic injured baitfish. Hotspot 2 Dam Area- Lure: Use live nightcrawlers or minnows under a bobber to entice channel catfish. Allow the bait to drift near rocky areas for the best chance of a hookup.
