As of 4/24/24 there is plenty of open water to fish. There has been a fairly large winter kill on fish with ice off. This happens when the ice gets to thick through the winter and the sun cannot penetrate reducing the oxygen levels thus killing fish. Once more info comes thru we will have an updated report, but as of right now it may be best to go elsewhere as this could be why the ice season fishing seemed to be much slower due to this issue.
