Willard Bay is starting to feel like classic spring transition fishing where things are slowly turning on but still a little inconsistent day to day, with wipers being the main draw but not fully in a feeding frenzy yet, while channel cats are starting to get more active in the warmer shallows and carp are cruising the edges; wipers are being picked up most consistently by anglers trolling crankbaits, swimbaits, and spoons around mid-depth channels and windblown points, especially when baitfish are pushed up by wind, but you still have to cover water to find them; catfish are the easiest steady bite right now on cut bait, nightcrawlers, or stink bait along warmer shorelines and rocky areas, especially late afternoon into evening; water is still cool enough that everything is a bit spaced out, but when you find active fish it can turn on quickly, putting Willard at about a 6.57/10 overall with wipers improving fast and catfish carrying the consistency.
