Overall bite is pretty solid right now with lake trout carrying most of the action, smallmouth starting to wake up, and kokanee still a bit early. For lakers, locals are doing best out on rocky points and deeper structure in about 3070 feet, mainly jigging white tubes, paddle tails, or spoons, with a few trolling setups also picking fish up if youre covering water. Smallmouth are starting to slide up shallower on warm afternoons, especially around rock banks and sun-exposed coves, and theyre eating Ned rigs, tubes, and jerkbaits when you find them in that 520 foot range. Kokanee are just starting to show signs of life, but its still earlysome anglers are beginning to mark suspended fish and drag small dodger-hoochie rigs to pick off the first biters. If I were heading down, Id jig for lakers early while theyre active, then switch gears and hunt smallmouth as the rocks warm up, keeping an eye on the graph for any early kokanee schools while moving between spots. Overall, lake trout are the most consistent at about an 8/10 bite, smallmouth are improving quickly around a 6.5/10, and kokanee are still early at about a 5/10, but trending up fast if weather stays stable.

There is no entrance fee to Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. A Recreation Use Pass is required at all major boat launches and also at the Little Hole National Recreation Trail below the dam.
