The latest information I could verify is a little thin for September 2026, but Pea Blanca is still being mentioned by Southern Arizona anglers as a bass option. Recent local discussion in August specifically included Pea Blanca among the Southern Arizona lakes people are fishing for bass.Bass:Expect a tougher, clearer-water bite, particularly once the sun gets high.Fish early morning and late evening.I'd concentrate on shoreline cover, points, shaded banks and any deeper structure.Good starting choices: weightless Texas-rigged Senkos/craws, small swimbaits, spinnerbaits and finesse worms/drop-shots.The lake's clear water makes a more subtle presentation worthwhile. An Arizona Game & Fish report specifically described Pena Blanca bass fishing as inconsistent and more challenging because of the water clarity.Crappie:This is the species I'd pay particular attention to. AZGFD reported that black crappie had made a significant comeback, with fish around 1112 inches being caught in its recent reports. Look around submerged brush/structure with small jigs or minnows.Trout:The most recent AZGFD report I found indicated trout fishing had been fairly good during the cooler season, particularly early morning and in deeper/cooler water, although that report was from earlier in 2026. With September's warmer conditions, I wouldn't make trout the primary target right now.
