NEW MELONES

Rating - Fair

Friday, Jan 13 2023
The launch ramp access has improved, but it will take a few more feet of rise before the dock is installed. Prior to the storms, trout fishing was solid with grubs or Rapalas close to the shorelines. Numbers of bass can be taken on plastics on the drop-shot or jigs in deep water, but the big ones are close to the shorelines, and trout-patterned swimbaits have been effective. The lake rose to 4 feet to 885.98 feet in elevation this week and 27 percent.
