The fall transition has started. Shorter days and cooler weather is starting to affect the bass bite. Not that the fish aren't there to be caught it's just time to start modifying or change techniques. The frog and/or top water bite is starting to slow. Downsize and slow down. Top baits/rigs are drop shots, texas rigged worms, wacky sinkos, jerk baits (moved fast on the outside of the weed line), lipless crankbaits and punching. Striper are moving further into the system but you must be willing to move around and find them. Trolling or throwing big swimbaits & top water walking baits is the most fun! Word is the deep water channel in West Sacramento is kicking out plenty of striper and Largemouth bass.
