As Spring approach's be very aware of ice conditions. Once ice starts to turn black and wet it is very unsafe for travel no matter how thick it is. Use extreme caution and watch out for springs and overflow. Once the Ice starts receding from shore trout fishing can be fantastic! fish small nymphs, jigs and spinners close to the ice shelf for some hot action. Kepler lake has a nice population of decent sized Rainbows. Small jigs and tubes in gold, white, glow and chartreuse can also be a good lure and color choices. You could also try small spoons in assorted colors or small hooks or jigs tipped with Pautzkes Balls O Fire or cured shrimp fished under a float.

Directions: Mile 37.3 Glenn Hwy. North on Kepler Drive 0.1 mile to undeveloped public boat launch on Bradley Lake. Kepler Lake is accessible by boat from Bradley Lake taking short connecting channel between the lakes. There is also a private campground with canoe rentals available. Non-motorized craft and electric motors only on Kepler Lake. Alternate route for Kepler Lake: Mile 36.4 Glenn Hwy. Kepler-Bradley Lakes State Recreation Area on North side of highway.
