Watch for thin ice and overflow. Big lake is a great place to target big Arctic Char/Dolly Varden. Rainbow fishing can also be very productive. Northern Pike are present in some areas of the lake and some very large fish have been taken in recent years. This is a no bait lake. Tube jigs in hot orange, glow and chartreuse work well. Using electronics can really increase your catch. There is a emergency order for the Big Lake/ Fish Creek drainage. Arctic Char/Dolly Varden are now NO RETENTION. All arctic char/dolly varden must be released unharmed immediately.

Right at "Y" on North Shore Drive for 1.6 miles to Big Lake East Wayside with camping, picnic tables, toilet facilities and developed boat launch.
