Rainbow trout are stocked in both reservoirs, though the differing water management prescribes different fish management strategies. "Catchable"-sized (8-10 inches) rainbow trout are stocked in the lower reservoir so that anglers can catch and harvest fish soon after stocking. The minimum water level in the upper reservoir allows for stocking fingerling (5-inch) fish, which can then grow in the lake. Rainbow trout caught in the upper reservoir average 10-14 inches, with an occasional fish exceeding 18 inches. Most anglers target rainbow trout with bait, though trolling small lures is also very effective. Smallmouth bass are maintained through natural reproduction and feed on abundant crayfish. The best way to target bass is with plastic grubs in colors that imitate crayfish (dark green, orange, and black). Smallmouth bass may also be caught with spinners, while rainbow trout may also hit grubs. The lower reservoir also has a population of green sunfish that will attack just about anything. Notes: Fish consumption advisories have been issued for rainbow trout and smallmouth bass in Upper Enterprise Reservoir due to elevated levels of mercury. Visit this link for more information and suggested consumption limits.

Some dead trout have been observed lately, resulting from warm water temperature. This does not mean that all the trout are gone, however. Most are able to escape the heat by going deep. Trout fishing is slow. Smallmouth bass fishing is good to excellent.
