Flows in the lower Beaver River follow a predictable pattern based on releases for irrigation from Minersville Reservoir. From April to October, flows are ideal for fishing. During the winter, however, no water is released from the reservoir and flow in the river is maintained by springs and groundwater. Winter fishing is a little tougher as fish are easily spooked and surface ice often forms.
