Upper & Lower Beaver River Fall Fishing Forecast (September - November): Brown and rainbow trout are abundant. Brown trout get aggressive in the fall as they prepare to spawn and can be effectively caught with various flies (streamers, egg patterns) lures (spinners, Rapalas) and jigs (marabou, tubes). Most of the tributaries - including the Beaver forks, Merchant Creek, and Three Creeks - also have abundant populations of wild trout.

Flows in the lower Beaver River follow a predictable pattern based on releases for irrigation from Minersville Reservoir. From April to October, flows are ideal for fishing. During the winter, however, no water is released from the reservoir and flow in the river is maintained by springs and groundwater. Winter fishing is a little tougher as fish are easily spooked and surface ice often forms.
