November success will depend on the weather. The fish will be feeding trying to put on weight before winter sets in. However, if we get a few cold spells the bite will be slow because their metabolism will slow down to conserve energy. When conditions are favorable, look for ambush points and bait concentrations to be top spots to concentrate on. Expect a good top water and jig bite for bass in the marsh. No need to get an early start as the bite will be better as the water temperatures warm up and the fish become more active. Best colors will be bream, mullet, crawfish and crab imitations. On the saltwater side, expect decent catches of trout, redfish, and drum. The deeper holes in the bayou and marsh will hold fish along with the rocks at the mouth of the bayou. Flounders will be on the ledges and on shallow points near marsh runouts. Live shrimp, dead shrimp, and artificials in avocado and opening night will produce the best results. Pay attention to schools of mullets because lots of time big trout are underneath them.________________________________________

Best baits are weedless floating soft plastics early. As the sun warms switch over to a Texas rigged worm in Tequila sunrise or black. Bream can be caught on worms, crickets or Berkley nibbles. The mouth of the bayou has been chock full of mullet which has brought in the Jack Crevalle. Drum, croakers, and redfish have been roaming the area and provide decent action on some days. Artificial shrimp have been working the best. Crabbing has been much better this year when compared to prior years.Click here to unsubcribe from your fishing reports.
