Randleman Lake, NC July & August Fishing Report (Bass & Crappie Focus)Water Conditions:Randleman Lake features relatively clear to slightly stained water with less recreational traffic than other area lakes. Surface temperatures range from 82F to 88F during July and August. Vegetation and standing timber provide solid cover, especially in the upper reaches of the lake.Largemouth Bass:Bass are in full summer mode, holding to deeper structure during the day and moving shallow in low-light periods. Focus on main lake points, creek channel edges, and brush piles in 1020 feet of water. Early and late in the day, bass can be found cruising shallow flats and around laydowns.Best Baits:Texas-rigged creature baits (green pumpkin, black/blue)Deep crankbaits in sexy shad or chartreuse blueDrop shots with finesse worms for suspended or deep structure bassTopwater walking baits and frogs early and lateWacky-rigged Senkos around docks and overhanging treesPatterns:Dawn and dusk: aggressive topwater bite near grass lines and timberMidday: focus on brush piles, submerged structure, and creek mouthsNight bite can be productive with big worms and dark spinnerbaitsCrappie:Crappie are holding in deeper water through late summer. The bite is best around brush piles and submerged timber in 1525 feet.
