Lake Hyco November Fishing ReportNovember at Lake Hyco brings cooler days and crisp nights, but the lakes warm-water discharge keeps temperatures higher than most surrounding reservoirs. Water temps often hold in the mid-60s to low-70s, which keeps bass feeding aggressively well into late fall.Bass PatternHyco bassespecially largemouthtend to stay shallow to mid-depth through most of November. The warm water keeps shad active and spreads them through the coves, pockets, and along grass edges. Productive areas this month include:The warm-water discharge and surrounding covesGrass lines and shallow woodRock points near the power plant armSteeper banks leading into pocketsCreek mouths with active baitBass often roam in wolfpacks chasing shad, so staying mobile is key.Best Lures for NovemberHyco fish are aggressive in fall, and these baits consistently produce:Swim Jigs (white or shad colors) excellent around grass and shallow cover.ChatterBait / Bladed Jig one of the best baits on Hyco for covering water and hunting active fish.2.83.3" Swimbaits great for schooling activity and suspended bait chasers.Alabama Rig particularly strong around the discharge arm and deeper points.Lipless Crankbait burn it over grass flats or yo-yo it on drops.Squarebill Crankbait grind it around wood, riprap, and grass edges.Texas Rig or Jig when the bite slows, pick apart stumps and docks.Current Bite OverviewMorning: Shad push into pockets; swimbaits, chatterbaits, and swim jigs shine.Midday: Bass slide toward deeper grass or suspendtry an A-rig or jig.Warm Afternoons: Shallow crankbait and chatterbait bites pick back up, especially with wind.Other SpeciesCrappie are gathering over brush in 1015 ft.
