Bass: Texas rigged worms, Jigs, Creature baits and when it starts to warm up during the day, don't be afraid to throw a mid to deep crankbait or jerkbait. Bass will often be in deeper waters during the colder months but can still be found in areas with cover. Bluegill: nightcrawlers and small plastic baits on a jig or small hook are very effective. A bobber can be used to suspend the bait in the strike zone, usually around 2-4 feet deep. Bluegill are active in the morning and evening near shorelines or areas with submerged vegetation. Catfish: Cut bait, chicken liver, stink baits or hotdogs on a slip sinker rig in deeper areas can target catfish effectively. In colder water, fish are more sluggish and less likely to chase fast-moving lures, slow steady retrieves or bottom fishing will be more successful.
