The Klamath River is producing both steelhead and salmon. The river will close for adult Chinook salmon fishing below the Hwy 96 bridge at Weitchpec on Sunday Sept 13th. Although that section of the river will remain open for the harvest of jack Chinook salmon (less than or equal to 23 inches). The Trinity is running clear. It is running about a foot higher due to an increase in release from Lewiston Dam. Try floating roe for the best bite.

The Klamath main stem within 250 feet of the mouth of Shovel Creek is closed to fishing Nov. 16 through June 15. Season: Last Saturday in Apr. through Nov. 15. 5 trout per day. 10 trout in possession Shovel Creek and tributaries above mouth of Panther Creek.
