The fishing around the area is doing well up. A few Halibut are being caught in the bay along with the jetty. There are a few Pacific Halibut being caught as well. Ocean salmon is closed. The ocean weather has been decent, but affected by Hurricane Marie Rock fishing has been good around the rocks off Trinidad and Crescent City. Tuna are also being caught offshore.

The California halibut bite went wild in the northern portion of Humboldt Bay and drifting live bait has been the hot technique. Finally over the weekend the weather calmed and boats could make the run to Cape Mendocino where they found famished lings and rockfish that bit like maniacs.
