Inshore: Captain Tom Cushman (843-997-5850) reports that the inshore fishing should pick up in May after a fair April, but there has already been a good run of flounder and it should continue to improve this month. The flounder will undoubtedly get bigger and they will eat mud minnows, finger mullet, and more. Redfish should also be caught on mud minnows, mullet, and shrimp this month, and the black drum and sheepshead should get easier to catch on a variety of crustaceans including shrimp and fiddler crabs. And while trout will eat other baits, live shrimp are often king.
