06/02/2026 Orange county and inshore fishing has been very good recently. The fleet is still targeting rock and whitefish, sanddabs for the half day boats. 3/4 and overnight boats are starting to get some hints of yellowtail moving into the area. Inshore bays have had a really consistent bite for spotties and sandbass, again with the occasional halibut. Those heading out in personal boats target the kelp lines, 20-30lb flylined baits should produce calicos, sandbass, sheepshead and maybe even some barracuda. Those heading out to Catalina have been getting into seabass, bonito, with some reports of a wide open bass bite and an occasional yellowtial. Further south out of San Diego. 1/2 day boats are targeting rock and whitefish with good results. Those able to hit the islands on the full day or longer trips have been hitting big yellowtails. The local and offshore fisheries are setting up to be epic this year. TIGHT LINES!!
