7/23/2026. Big Bear lake is fully into the summer patterns. Trout seem to be holding in the 10-20 foot depth range, between the dam and the observatory. Anglers are finding good success with the traditional dough baits, worms, wedding rings and micetails. Boat anglers are finding success between the observatory and Grays, running 2-3 colors of lead core trying to find the sweet spot, running needlefish and wedding rings or the brightest lures available. Make sure to check the latest limno information from the water company prior to targeting an area, match the temp and D/O for the best results. Small mouth bass has also been a consistent bite lately. Targeting hard structure, rock piles, weedlines etc. Craw baits and texas rigged worms have been producing. Catfish have been a consistent bite on the east end for those soaking anchovies and mackerel. DFG has Big Bear slated for another stocking the week of 7/18. Tight lines
