The water levels have remained somewhat consistent. There are many people that float the river mid morning, mid day and late in the evening. Caddis and midge hatches have been occuring. Try using caddis dry flies in sizes 16-18. Caddis nymphs/emergers as well as black or red midges work well. Also try using flashback pheasant-tail nymphs. Spin fisherman try black, gold, or yellow spinners on 8lb flourocarbon. For bass fishing the reservoir try fishing the camp sites on the east side of the reservoir. Fish are feeding on crawdads and smaller sized this years perch and bass. For baitcasters, a great lakes finesse elastic spot jig is perfect. They come in light weights, and are perfect when paired up with a smaller worm or creature bait. Make sure to use heavier line, we recommend 12lb-17lb seaguar flourocarbon. For spinner fisherman targeting smallmouth try using a 1/8 oz jig head with a berkley 2.8" swimbait on 8lb line, and let it sink on slack line, and reel in at a consistently slow speed. Also try using a drop shot with an 18"-24" leader to a 1/4 oz weight and hop it on the bottom to avoid snags, but don't forget to pick up some extra weights incase you lose your weights. Great lakes finesse makes a few awesome drop shot baits that are around 3-4 inches in length. A great lakes finesse juvie craw with a 1/4 oz ball head has also proven effective. It is similar to a ned rig, but more realistic. For this we recommend natural colors of brown or green pumpkin. Sometimes even some red flake mixed in with these natural colors will get you that extra bite you've been looking for.
