Water temps are up in and around Belle Isle, averaging in the mid 70s. Water temps in the lake and even the shipping channel are in the mid 70s. Shoreline temps are cooling, drawing fish back in towards shore overnight. Early morning, cooler temps will bring fish in to feed. 80% of the fish are occupying about 20% of the water, as they are staying in pockets. North end of the lake or out into cooler waters tends to be better. Panfish, bowfin and catfish are still good in the warmer waters. A lot of smallies moving into the north end and in the channels where the waters are cooler, even in the shallower areas. Keep in mind clearer water conditions when selecting your baits, things like drop shot are less effective. Spinners, urchin and dice baits still effective.
