Henry Hagg Lake: Great place to take the family, easy access for bank anglers and boat fisherman alike, wide variety of species to chase! Trout fishing has been slower as the salmonids move to cooler/deeper water with the elevated temperatures lately. Most trout are being caught early nd/or late in the day. Tradtional baits like powerbait and nightcrawlers fished off the bottom as well as smaller spinners and spoons (roostertails, panther martins, little cleos, kastmasters etc.) near the surface have been taking the majority of the trout. Currently holds the OR state record Smallmouth Bass and has a healthy population of willing smallies and Largemouth Bass. Have been hearing of some really big fish being caught on rainbow pattern rapalas (either trolled - floating behind small attractors OR cast - sinking/suspending) that meant to imitate the rapidly maturing offspring of last year's holdover rainbows put in by the state. September is PRIME TIME for HenryCome see our local experts in the Fishing Dept. and pick their brains on what's been working lately for them....As always, please feel free to ask for our Fishing Dept. Manager, Casey Harwood, by name and he'd be happy to walk you through how he'd fish the trip you're headed out on next!!!!
