Dropshot and Texas rigs are catching fish. The best bite seems to be later in the day when the water has warmed a bit, fish late afternoons if possible. Remember bass can be caught around boulders and in brush lines on senko and spinnerbaits. Crappie is just starting, try around the Yellow Cliffs with 1/16oz jigs and 2" Kalins slow trolling can work well . Catfish are becoming active. In the days and weeks to come they will be lurking the shallows in search food. For Chanel Cats use live worms, stink baits and chicken livers. For Flatheads load up with big line 20Lb. plus, fish 5-15 feet deep with live worms, live bluegill or small carp. Rig up a Carolina rig with 1oz. egg sinker to help keep your bait on the bottom.

This 3,000-acre lake just an hour via Interstate 17 from Tucson is home to a wide variety of fish, including bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass, channel, blue and flathead catfish, sunfish, and carp.Many sportsmen go to the lake to trap crawdads and gig for bullfrogs as well.
This is a large, well-established reservoir with a fully equipped marina and moorage for hundreds of boats.
It has a unique setting, located near the Sonoran Desert.
Anglers should be aware of its isolated location with amenities dozens of miles away and summertime temperatures that can reach 120 degrees.
Techniques & Tips
Starting with catfish youll want to find deep water. Sometimes the best bottom fishing for cats is near the dam. Use traditional, smelly catfish bait like doughballs, blood bait, chicken liver, or chunks or semi-rancid meat on 20-pound test or heavier braided line. Large 00 hooks are a good idea. A 76-pound channel catfish is the lake record.Bluegill and crappie are schooling fish and are best located along underwater structure with a fish finder.
Bass frequent the shallows in the early morning and late evening during the coolest parts of the day.
Surface jigs, poppers, and jitterbugs worked in the shallower, heavily brushed areas produce the best.
