Yuba Reservoir

Rating - Good

Friday, Oct 15 2021
The water level is down to 9% capacity. Boat Anglers: the Painted Rocks Launch ramp is closed due to low water, and Yuba State Park asks boater to please call about the Oasis Launch Ramp condition beforehand to know if you can still launch - 435-758-2611; the water level is near the end of the ramp. Fishing is fair for shore anglers, and fair to good for anglers fishing from a watercraft. Anglers are catching common carp and wiper fishing mornings and evenings. For small motorized and hand-launch boat anglers, try slow trolling dressed in-line spinners, flutter spoon, minnow mimic swimbaits or crankbaits. Also, try active casting using lures such as the Jakes Spin-A-Lure, Eppinger Dardevle, Acme Kastmaster, River2Sea Whopper Plopper, Arbogast Jitterbug, Smithwick Devil's Horse, BOOYAH spinnerbait, or Heddon Torpedo Prop-Bait. For shore anglers, use caution accessing the shore (soft substrate mud are present in areas). Try using a piece of nightcrawler with a marshmallow, nightcrawler with shoepeg corn, garlic scented trout dough bait, bread, or a fresh piece of carp cut bait fished below a bobber or fished behind a casting bubble - filling the bubble completely with water to allow the bait to slowly sink and fish the entire water column. Also, try using those lures previously mentioned.
