The Truckee River continues to have good flows, the temps on the other hand have once again become an issue with warmer days last week. Please continue to carry your thermometers with you and call it a day when temps hit 67-68 degrees. Last week we started to see better numbers of large fish showing up and this trend should continue for the remainder of the summer as long as conditions stay viable. Fish are still holding in medium to fast water speeds, with a handful of fish beginning to move back into slower water. This is a good time to begin to probe different water types, even if for just a few casts. Dry dropper set ups with large foamy dries and heavy weighted nymphs, euro nymphing or indicator fishing are all solid bets at this point, and first light streamer fishing could move some big fish for the patient angler. The water below the confluence of Boca to the Nevada state line will have the best flows and temps, and this is where we recommend spending the morning. The main bugs at the moment are nocturnal stones in 4-6, caddis pupa in 14-18, PMDs in 18-20, BWOs in 18-20 and crawdads.
