The fishing at Strawberry is good to great. The ice is thick (over 14 inches), although snow and slush conditions are challenging. Anglers are reporting 2-3 feet of snow atop the ice, with 6-18 inches of slush (in many areas). Anglers are also reporting snowmobiles getting stuck out on the ice both personal sleds and the Strawberry Bay Marina shuttle sleds. Please use caution, be prepared and pack light. Yellow, chartreuse, white- and pink-colored tubes or paddle bugs tipped with nightcrawler or shrimp have been successful for those fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout. (March 09, 2023)
