Starvation
Rating - Fair
Wednesday, Jan 11 2023
1/7/2023: Starvation has anywhere from 4 to 12" of ice. Main lake is about 9.5" inches thick with 2" of fresh snow on top. Both Knight Hollow and the Strawberry River arm have more slush than mid-lake. Access is plowed in the main lots but snow packed by angler traffic for the rest of the access points. Angler reports vary from each area of the lake. Overall fishing has been fair to good for rainbow trout up to 22". Rainbows are cruising at 9-14" below the surface of the ice most areas. Walleye and perch are 25-45 feet deep and if you can find the right structure you can get a limit of small walleye in the evening. Walleye are feeding on large zooplankton right now which translates to small tungsten jigs being very effective. The bit window is small, 1-2 hours in the evening, however you can still find a few feeding walleye during morning and mid day hours. Updated regulations on panfish in Starvation Reservoir will take effect on January 1st. Please review the 2023 fishing guided book. Please visit starvation state park's main page for the most up to date reservoir conditions. https://stateparks.utah.gov/parks/starvation/current-conditions/
