Water Temperature (F): 71.0 Ramp Condition: Useable Lake level is 906.79 msl; recreation pool is 904 msl. Lake Rathbun contains zebra mussels; clean, drain and dry your boat before you go to another water body. Black Crappie - Slow: Target suspended crappie with small crankbaits. Look for crappies to gather around brush piles and be closer to shore as the water cools. Walleye - Slow: Troll crankbaits over rock piles or underwater islands. Use crankbaits that mimic gizzard shad. Wiper (Hybrid Striped Bass) - Slow: Try vertically jigging over rock piles or trolling crankbaits. Watch for schools of gizzard shad; hybrid striped bass are probably following them.
