With the water temperature now in the low 60s to mid-60s.brush piles on the upper end of the lake in 10 to 16 are starting to hold quality crappie! Down lake is still slow in the deeper water columns, but they are on the move! Live minnows fished off the bottom 2 to 3 in addition to casting 1/8-ounce jigs on top of trees has been productive.The next 7-10 days well see crappie pulling out mid and down lake into deeper brush, but for now theyre still holding in 4 to 8 of water on gravel banks with boulder rocks. Although the spawn is wrapping up dont think the crappie bite is slowing down. After a couple weeks of recovery May and June offers spectacular crappie fishing! The largemouth and smallmouth bass have been on fire mid and down lake. Look for boulder rock surrounded by gravel banks. Swimbaits, crankbaits and spinnerbaits have been successful. If you dont find fish on a bank keep moving.
