The Little Juniata River is currently low and clear with water temperatures in the high 40's to 50's. Sporadic Blue-winged Olive (BWO) hatches have been reported on the surface, but subsurface nymphs and streamers are effective. Recommended flies include Tan Caddis, BWO nymphs, and Slump Busters. Anglers should avoid spawning fish and focus on areas with good structure, especially in the early morning or late evening.
