Lake Hamilton(updated 3-26-2026) Lake Hamilton is 65 degrees (as of Wednesday evening, with Lake Ouachita also being at 67 degrees in its main channel) and its just unbelievable this time of year where youve got that main channel for those temperatures, which means the creeks are warmer, or colder in the morning obviously, it just depends on when you are fishing. The water color is ridiculously clear, very clear because of the lack of rain. Were talking about ridiculous amounts of lack of rain for this time of year. The pollen needs to be talked about. If youre trying to float a worm in the back of pockets, its hard to do with red oak noodles. Theyre still on the trees right now. You can float a worm wherever you want and be good. But next week, its going to be a lot more difficult.

Capt. Darryl Morris of Family Fishing Trips continues to fish both Lake Hamilton and DeGray Lake and says the fishing remains the same as it was last week. He says bass of all species are breaking early in the morning at both places. A few may be caught on or near the surface, but most are feeding deeper.
