Inshore: Captain J. Baisch of Baisch Boys Bait and Tackle (843-651-1915) reports that typically in July fishing slows down, but this year that may happen later in the month with a mild season so far. While flounder fishing can be a little spotty in the creeks, fish can be caught on mud minnows or finger mullet if you get into the right schools. At the jetties or nearshore action can be more consistent. Trout fishing will be a little slow although there are some big fish around, but early some fish can be caught on topwater lures. Inshore redfish action can slow down in the heat of summer, but inshore slot-sized fish will be around and at the jetties bruiser fish can be caught on mullet.Surf and pier: Captain J reports that the pompano fishing should stay excellent throughout July, as should the action for whiting. Bluefish should be prolific, and depending on the location of the bait schools Spanish and king mackerel will continue be caught.Nearshore/offshore: Captain J reports that Spanish mackerel and king mackerel will both be around nearshore, and there should continue to be excellent bottom fishing well offshore. A red snapper window will offer some excitement. The Gulf Stream is slower in July, but there should be some wahoo, tuna and late dolphin caught.
