Nearshore Hotspots (around reefs, jetties, pilings, and beaches)Spanish mackerel & bluefish blitzes: Spanish mackerel and bluefish have been aggressively feeding on bait pods just beyond the beaches. Best techniques are trolling spoons or casting flashy jigs.Sheepshead on structure: Jetties and pilings are firing, with fiddler crabs as the top bait for likely sheepshead strikes .Spadefish action on reefs: Nearshore reefs are producing plenty of spadefish, especially when using large peeled shrimp.Black sea bass back in limits: Black sea bass are now in season; live menhaden used for Spanish may draw in keeper-quality bass too.Cobia lingering: Though early migration is past, cobia are still biting around reefs using live eels and menhaden.
